Scattered Leaves by V.C Andrews

bismIllah...

I have always love books from this author. Fell in love with her stories since I'm 12. All the books have similarities; family scandals, incest, forbidden love... Very different from most authors. That's why she's famous even if she has died. Dan juga still kuarkan buku even if she has died. Heh.

"Andrews' novels combine Gothic Saga and family saga, revolving around family secrets and forbidden love (frequently involving themes of consensual incest, most often between siblings), and they often include a rags-to-riches story. Her best-known novel is the infamous bestseller Flowers in the Attic (1979), a tale of four children locked in the attic of a wealthy Virginia family by their estranged religious grandmother for over three years.

Her novels were so successful that after her death her estate hired a ghost writer Andrew Neiderman, to write more stories to be published under her name. In assessing a deficiency in Andrews' estate tax returns, the Internal Revenue Service argued (successfully) that Andrews' name was a valuable commercial asset, the value of which should be included in her gross estate." --- Wikipedia.

Aku ingat lagi, first time aku baca buku dari penulis ni adalah betul-betul masa habis UPSR. Bosan giler kat rumah. Kebetulan time tu umah mak saudara aku, Mak Yang ada koleksi buku-buku VC Andrews (sebab sepupu aku collect). Selama ni memang aku selalu nampak, tapi tak pernah pinjam sebab takut. Yelah, buku-buku tu kemas je dalam almari buku berkaca tu. Berkunci lagi. huhu. Tapi entah macam mana, one day aku berani nak pinjam, and Mak Yang bagi! Seronok gila time tu.

Tapi memang betul la, buku-buku dia buat aku hooked. Memang aku susah betul nak letak buku tu bila aku dah start baca. To some people, buku-buku dia sama jer. Tema yang sama. But that's her signature kan... Aku memang suka buku dia walaupun "cerita dia meleret-leret" (quote dari Mak).

Kenapa aku tulis entry tentang buku ni?

Sebab aku rindu nak baca buku-buku macam ni!! huhu
Buku Scattered Leaves (2007) ni paling latest yang aku baru ada. Ni pun bersiri. Tapi 2 buku jer dalam siri ni. Aaa... nak baca buku 1st dier... mane nak cari ni...

Sambil-sambil tunggu makanan nak sampai...

Aku tak sepatutnya membaca novel buat masa ni. Exams dah dekat sangat dah. Bulan April ni weh! huhu... Nasib baik la buku tu aku habiskan dalam 2 jam je.:pandacloud_14:

Okeylah. dah lewat. aku terjaga ni cos dah tido since pukul 9 setengah tadi. Ni saje wat entry cos terasa macam nak menulis. Hari ni cuti Maulidur Rasul, aku rasa nak study jelah hari ni.

SELAMAT HARI MAULIDUR RASUL kepada semua!

P/p/s: By the way, abaikan url pada gambar-gambar. Mulanya aku plan nak publish kat blog yang lagi satu tu. huhu...

Hi Farah!Glad we share the same interest! i mean the VC andrews' thingy..

I just checked ur blog. I think i have read more books by her but i dont really remember most of them now. but still, the Casteel series are my favorite! then came the Dollanganger series. (everybody love FITA)

about the Scattered Leaves book in the picture, it's the hardcover edition. not the 1st edition though. it was cheap too. i bought it at rm19.90 (Popular).

about the contest, i'll think about it. hehehe...(i'm not good in writing)
