Battle to lose weight #2

bismIllah...

Ok, sambung entry semalam since aku ada masa free sikit ni.

Well, what did I buy?

I bought a cross trainer! A Nordictrack elliptical cross trainer to be exact.

Gini ler rupanya...

Ada macam-macam jenis cross trainer. And macam-macam brand. Silalah menggoogle and compare...

Kenapa aku beli benda alah ni plak padahal mulanya nak beli treadmill?

Well... selepas ditimbang-timbang and baca info di bawah ni, aku rasa better aku amik elliptical cross trainer la kot.

Treadmills vs. Elliptical Trainers

Which one should you choose?

Treadmills and elliptical trainers are two of the most popular pieces of exercise equipment and are excellent tools for getting an aerobic workout indoors. When you compare treadmills vs elliptical trainers, you will quickly realize that ellipticals have only come to the party fairly recently, whereas treadmills have been around muchlonger. Consequently, treadmills are more well-known and more commonplace. However, before you go and buy that treadmill, you may want to give elliptical trainers a second glance.

A quick comparison:

When you compare treadmills to elliptical trainers, you can't help but notice that the elliptical trainer offers an impact-free workout. With the elliptical, there is no impact on the ground, which may appeal to people who need a gentler workout because of joint problems or pain. The treadmill offers more impact, which helps strengthen the bones.

One obvious point that is in favor of treadmills is that it provides a better training experience for a dedicated runner/jogger than an elliptical trainer. If you are training for a marathon or even a 10k, and you don't want to go outdoors too often during the colder months, you are certainly better off with a quality treadmill.

That being said, if you are looking for a quality cardiovascular workout with the maximum amount of efficiency, the elliptical is an excellent choice. Most elliptical trainers give you a total body workout if you have dual action handlebars for your arms and foot pedals for your legs, whereas treadmills focus more on your lower body as they simulate the jogging experience. What is even more interesting, according to recent studies, is that the lack of impact on the joints allows the user to burn roughly the same amount of calories as treadmills with the impression of putting less effort.

Therefore, it is no wonder that ellipticals have been the machine of choice for seniors exercisers with knee problems, as well as physical trainers who are involved in rehabilitating their clients.

This is what Thomas Altena, an exercise physiologist at the University of Missouri-Columbia, had to say: "The physiological responses associated with elliptical exercises were nearly identical to treadmill exercises." He went on to conclude that "both exercise machines are effective for increasing the amount of calories burned and for producing cardio respiratory health and training benefits..."

Finally, one feature which is often overlooked about elliptical trainers is the ability to add variety to your aerobic workout. Whenever anyone is on an exercise plan, one of the biggest challenges he faces is to stay motivated and interested in his workouts. With the treadmill, the ability to change the incline, as well as the intensity are big pluses, which has contributed to its popularity over the last decade. The elliptical trainer matches these features and has a few additional ones of its own.

In addition to changing the cross ramp incline (which is available in Precor models) as well as varying the intensity, you also have the option to not use the handlebar and focus on your lower body. Although this option is not used often, it does add variety to your workout.

However, the most critical feature, and what separates the elliptical trainer from many other exercise machines when it comes to variety, is the forward and reversible feature on the foot pedals. When you are going forward, you feel like a cross country skier hitting the long slopes. However, when you reverse your pedal motion, you can target your lower body in a completely different way. Without question, you are targeting your quadriceps muscles and will soon feel them burn after a few minutes.

Tangan ko bergerak gak sambil kaki pun gerak. Ok la kan?

Ade cheaper cross trainer than PR990 ni yang impact free gak.. kelebihan PR990 ni sebab banyak program bla bla... (ok, aku beli sebab akak tu beli kahkahkah)

So far memang best la pakai.

Lokasi PR990 di dalam bilik tidur kami.
Ade nampak voltage converter kat lantai tepi lampu tu?
Haaa... sebab benda alah ni made in USA. Memang fully imported... barang2 electrical dari US memang bila nak pakai kat Msia kena guna transformer. huhu

HARUS letak dekat tv supaya tak bosan...
And HARUS juga letak dekat ngan tingkap so leh mengusya-ngusya kat luar kalau bosan.

Sebab memang bosan ok bergerak/workout setempat ni!
So kena la pandai-pandai susun strategi supaya tak  bosan.
(ok.. dah berapa banyak aku taip 'bosan' daaa)

Cara paling efektif bagi aku ialah:
Baca novel sambil workout.

Tapi novel dari iBooks di iPad ku ler...

Leh letak iPad atas panel.

I'm a newbie so please don't judge me.

Ini lah paling lama aku workout pun... 41 minutes. hihihi...

Seriously, bukan senang nak consistent.

Aku pernah dah tinggal benda alah ni seminggu tak pakai. Sebab? Out station... err.. out station nyer 3 hari je... tapi... ermmm.. paham sendiri la kan... HEHEHE

But no! No more lah... jangan tinggal lama-lama tak pakai cos nanti nak start balik bukan main liat!

Serius.

Aku baru beli sebulan je benda alah ni... setakat ni baru turun 3 kilo lebih. Tapi aku rasa berat air je yang hilang kot? Sebab aku still rasa bontot and paha aku takde ape-ape efek. haha... tho ade jugak orang yang lama tak nampak aku kata aku dah slim sikit. hmmm... no komen.

Too early to say lah.

Anyway, wish me luck in losing weight!

Aku boleh workout everyday, insya Allah... tapi bab makan tu hampeh sikit nak control. =P

Now rutin aku ialah workout waktu pagi lepas bangun tido dan workout waktu petang before Maghrib. Timing elok-elok supaya lepas berpeluh-peluh tu leh terus mandi...

Selalunya 15 minutes each session. 15 minit je k. HAHAHA... Jeles giler camne orang leh workout lama-lama sampai sejam.. Aku masih belum mampu. Tapi aku think positive jela... at least ade gak workout dari membuta je petang2 :p

Takpe... slow-slow la kan... pernah je aku sampai 41 minutes tu... so sepatutnye aku leh la jugak sampai sejam kan? Doakan aku yer!

Nanti bulan depan aku update ape progress aku... berjayakah or hanya hangat2 tahi ayam (mintak simpang!!)?? Sama-sama kita tungguuuu...

Salam.

sama lah aku pun tengah cuba nak turunkan berat badan, bukanla tujuan nak nampak cantik semata, tapi lebih pada kesihatan sebab umur pun dah nak dekat 30
tinggi aku 167, berat 73kg..lebih kuranglah chubby kita ni..huhuhu
dah berbulan jugak beli alat senaman jenis cycling..walaupun padang tempat orang joging depan rumah je, tapi sama jugak cam ko..malu nak pegi

tapi masalahnya bila dah malas tu bawak ke seminggu malasnya..setakat ni berat tak turun banyak pun..tapi maintain la...dulu masa tak jaga berat badan, tiap kali timbang mesti naik 2,3kg..

nak jaga makan susah sikit aku ni suka sangat makan nasik, tupun amik nasi sekali je sehari..susah laaa
apapun, semoga kita berjaya..haha
